How We Check Offers

TrySpree lists free samples and freebies that members and our team find around the web. We never sell or ship anything ourselves. Every listing links to the company running the offer, and you claim it there. Here is how offers get on the site, how they are labeled, and how they come off.

1. Every post is reviewed before it goes live

Members can post any free offer they find, but new posts are held until a TrySpree admin approves them. We check that the offer is real, that it is run by the company named, and that it is free to claim. We do not list offers that need a credit card, survey chains that end in "partner offers", or "free trial" subscriptions that charge you later.

2. Listings say what the catch is

Some legitimate offers come with conditions. Each listing labels them so you can decide before you click:

  • Free after rebate: you pay first and get the money back.
  • Must be selected: you apply, and the brand picks who gets one (common for product testing).
  • Membership required: you need a free account with the offer site.
  • Only available to some people, in-store pickup, and buy-one-get-one offers are labeled too.
  • "via" badge: shown when the offer opens on a sampling service or social site instead of the brand’s own page.
  • Privacy and getability scores: 1 to 5 stars for how much the company respects your data and how easy the sample is to get.

3. Members flag offers that stop working

Free samples run out. When an offer closes, members flag it on the listing, and once enough members flag it, it is marked expired automatically. Admins also expire offers when they see them close.

4. Expired and stale offers come down

Expired offers drop out of the main listings and are removed from search engines. We also clean out old offers regularly. In September 2026 we removed about 4,600 stale listings, including year-old sweepstakes and older offers no one had claimed recently, so what is left is current.

5. You claim on the company’s site

The "Get Sample" button takes you to the brand or offer site, and you fill out their form. Signed-in members can use "TrySpree It!" to send their saved shipping details to the form automatically. Either way, the company running the offer handles shipping. A real free sample only needs your name and mailing address. Never give a credit card, Social Security number, or bank login for one.

Questions

Is TrySpree legit?

Yes. TrySpree is a free-sample community with over 90,000 members. Offers are reviewed before they go live, members flag ones that stop working, and you always claim the sample on the company’s own site.

Does TrySpree ship the samples?

No. TrySpree does not sell or ship anything. The company running the offer ships the sample to you, usually in two to eight weeks.

Why did an offer not work for me?

Most free samples have a limit and close once it is reached, sometimes within hours. If an offer is gone, flag it on the listing so other members know.
