How to get free baby samples
Where free baby samples come from
Baby brands know new parents pick a formula, diaper, or wipe early and stick with it, so they give away a lot to get in first. The best sources:
- Formula programs. The big formula makers run free programs for expecting and new parents. You sign up once with your due date and they mail samples, coupons, and sometimes a free can of formula over the first year.
- Diaper and wipe brands. Diaper brands send trial packs of newborn sizes and run rewards apps where you scan codes from packs for free products and gift cards.
- Registry welcome boxes. Major retailers give a free welcome box of baby samples when you create a baby registry, sometimes after a small purchase from the registry. Read each store’s current terms before you sign up.
- The hospital and your OB or pediatrician. Many hospitals send families home with a bag of formula and diaper samples, and doctor offices often have samples of formula, diaper cream, and vitamins if you ask.
- Brand sample forms. Baby lotion, wash, bottle, and pacifier brands open sample forms for new products. These are what TrySpree lists, each linking to the brand.
Free baby gear most parents miss
- Breast pumps. In the US, most health insurance plans cover a breast pump at no cost. Call your insurer or ask your OB before you buy one.
- Car seat checks. Many fire stations and hospitals check car seat installation for free.
- Library baby programs. Many libraries give a free board book to new babies through early-literacy programs.
How to spot a fake free baby offer
- It asks for a credit card to "cover shipping" on a free box. Read the fine print for a subscription.
- It asks for your Social Security number, your baby’s, or medical details beyond a due date. Real samples only need a name, address, and due date.
- It is a social media giveaway with no page on the brand’s own site.
Every TrySpree listing links to the company running the offer, and members flag offers that are not genuinely free. See how we check offers.
Tips
- Sign up for formula and diaper programs during pregnancy. Most send more when they have a due date.
- Use a separate email address. Baby programs send a lot of email.
- Sort by newest, and see free kids’ samples and free toys as your baby grows.
