Luna Rossa Ocean by Prada is a Aromatic Fougere fragrance for men. Luna Rossa Ocean was launched in 2021. Luna Rossa Ocean was created by Anne Flipo and Carlos Benaim. Top notes are Bergamot, Pink Pepper and Artemisia; middle notes are Lavender, Iris, Sage, Suede and Saffron; base notes are Musk, Caramel, Haitian Vetiver and Patchouli.

"Prada Luna Rossa Ocean is the new masculine fragrance from Prada, built on a conviction that with technology as an extension of humanity, we can push beyond  our  limits,  imagine  beyond  possibility  and  open  new  horizons. The fragrance features a bright cocktail of qualitative citrus combined with a racy duo of lavender and sage to create a clean and fresh halo. This singular leathery heart expresses a second skin effect by exploring a sensual suede and saffron accord and the elegant creaminess of orris notes."

American actor Jake Gyllenhaal fronts the new campaign, shot by Johan Renck.

The fragrance is available as a 50 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette.

it's giving Noxzema, but i don't dislike it.

MichelinoF

Amazing fragrance, much like. I wear everyday to receive unsolicited compliment from mother and father. Again I cannot recommend as it is mine and mine only

Dorde

Prada Luna Rossa Ocean,
i like it,for me it's all about drydown, love the iris and lavender combo and that
powdery feel.The opening is kind a weird,very unussuall,like ocean,wtf,
like you expected something different from its name. But there is some magic...
Then it sit down like a cozy glove around you.And yes,you feel quality
ingredients very well blended together.Very clean and safe scent, nothing
special, but enough to get you smile and confidence in every situation.
Not a really typical blue fragrance, more on its own way.
Hidden gem for sure.I buy it and don't regret at all.
I smell edp but i buy edt.It is lighter and more casual then edp.
So from me strong 8,5/10.

FragPW123

This is one of my favorite scents that aren't super dark. It's got a weird BO smell but not in a bad way.

a7_mad1991

Absolutely love this!
It totally smells different on clothes than on a tester card at the shop.
After a while, it becomes a pleasant lavender and sage and slightly sweet aura. I got asked by so many people about it.
Summer / winter scent.

TonyG

SWAP??? have a close to full bottle of this if anyone wants to swap it for something else!!! Not bad just not for me. Msg me if interested!!

stonkz

I actually really like this i don't agree with the reviews... should be rated much higher. i think it smells really good! The iris in this is really beautiful together with the caramel. it never really becomes too "sweet" but it can sometimes appear cloying to the untrained nose. which might be why the reviews aren't higher i'd give it a 8/10

Mixful

I wasn't a fan of the smell when I first sprayed it but then after a few minutes once it settled it smelled great, lasted quite a while on me a pretty good spring and summer cologne.

YoutubeChannelBobGianShow

I sprayed 1 spray on my arm. and it lasted for about 8-10 hrs on my skin.

The performance is very good on my skin!

I rated this 6/10 before. But now, i rate this 9/10. (Scent-wise, Quality-Wise, Performance-Wise, Price-Wise)

Shingooo

I borrowed it from a friend because i liked it when I smelled it at first, but the opening is absolutely unbearable to me, nauseatingly soapy, i can't get past it, I really like it once the soapiness fades away but I won't be buying this for myself unfortunately.

It smells like a smug men who works with suit and tie, it's fresh in a fancy way. It's not for me but it's kind of unique.

YoutubeChannelBobGianShow

I now have Prada Luna Rossa Ocean. I just bought this today. I now have Prada Luna Rossa Original, Carbon and Ocean. My most favorite is the Luna Rossa Original. But i also like Carbon and Ocean.

Ocean reminds me of Polo Sport and Montblanc Legend Spirit.

kojii

Prada Luna Rossa Ocean is a great, masculine, impossible to hate, shower gel scent for spring and summer. This is a super safe blind buy for yourself, or as a gift. Extremely fresh, clean, soapy and crowd pleasing smell. Smells like a very good mixture of clean laundry and soap with some nice green notes and the very slightest sweet note far in the background. Honestly I wish the sweet note was exempted, but it's hardly noticeable. Projection is okay, performance is pretty solid (keep in mind all frags have less longevity in summer). Overall a great fragrance and something I will wear a lot. If you're looking for a pleasant, crowd pleasing scent for spring/summer this is for you.

danielenachem

I don’t particularly like the sauvage DNA, but I like this fragrance out of all of them. It’s a bit lighter and soapy rather than woodsy and spicy. Nice everyday scent..

DesignersOnly93

Beauty of this fragrance is when it becomes a skin scent, when you can detect the aromatic fougere in LR Ocean. Unfortunate.

Opening has a weird "grape soda" smell. Late drydown as a skin scent smells 90% close to Nivea active clean shower gel.

Nivea active clean shower gel smells absolutely amazing. Raw masculinity. Charcoal vanilla bourbon shower gel smell, with elemi and orris. If one of these fragrance houses could replicate the smell identically....

Would be a #1 seller in men's fragrances. Sauvage would have to move aside.

narcotic_tr

Dry down is close to dg pour homme but starts unique

Blazing Lazers

Layer this with Canyon lotion from bath and body works to improve longevity

OTGaruda

I have tried Prada Ocean in store multiple times and i loved it, bought the fragrance loved it still, it is a perfect fresh green scent with some good florals but there is one problem. The performance and longevity sucks for this, i used 4 sprays for 4 hours so you would defiantly have to overspray this fragrance. Otherwise love the bottle love the atomizer and love the scent.

Muskyflower

I still find myself confused by those who insist on categorizing fragrances by age group 🤦

This fragrance isn't tailored to a specific age range.

It is tailored to whoever enjoys the fragrance enough to warrant buying a FB.

I swear fragcom is full of arbitrary rules and nonsensical noise

nísimaldar

This smells like caramel coated laundry sheets. In short, a weird mash up of sweet and clean/aromatic that just doesn't work for me. I think if the caramel was dropped from the lead into a supporting role, I could like it more. But sadly, like the Y line, this is just too sweet for me. I almost never reach for my 2ml decant even after having it for a year. Too sweet for work, too cloying for the gym, too soapy for dates. Overall, a very youthful scent. Maybe ideal for you're 17-21 year olds and going out at night.

When I want sweet Prada, I gravitate to Amber Pour Homme Intense or Prada L'Homme Intense. Two great scents that are sweet and yet still masculine and mature.

Henry_Sieglaff

Great floral and fresh scent with decent longevity and nice base notes. Keeps that fresh out of the shower scent in all notes.

bdgarver

Smells like new car scented air freshener mixed with shower gel. Also reminds me of a shoe store smell. It’s actually quite nice and modern smelling and not just a run of the mill blue fragrance. The more I wear the more I like it. It’s a touch barbershop but the caramel and the suede keep it from going too far in that direction. Not very aquatic smelling at all but does have a nice musk. Lasts about 6 hours on skin with soft projection for 2 of them so it’s not that strong but feels clean and a little unique. Could wear about anywhere anytime. It’s very non offensive and would be good for people that don't usually wear fragrance like Prada L'homme type scent.
7/10

SailorMars657

So I’ve been putting off trying Prada Luna Ocean for awhile because I heard despite the name, it’s not an aquatic scent. I figured I don’t need another “office” type scent in my collection. Welp, I finally tried it and was surprisingly impressed! It’s true, it’s not an aquatic summer time scent but this is even more versatile and can be day or night dressed up or dressed down. It’s just the perfect balance of clean, sweet and fresh. It had medium silage and projection but great longevity for an EDT. I give this one an A plus, I will try for Luna Rosa EDP next and report back.

stardust_ziggy

I am probably smelling things but this is similar to Bleu de Chanel to me. Not so much when I compare one wrist vs the other but this reminds me of it in general…but better. And that’s no deference to BDC but this is pretty dang good.

It’s like a scent that say you normally like things buttoned up and versatile yet opulent this is that but letting you let loose a little more with a fun “bluish” scent.

Muskyflower

Not sure if the performance is as bad as the reviews are suggesting.

6 sprays this morning around 9 am.

Didn't get home until around 9:30 pm and my daughters were dangling off my arms talking about "you smell good daddy." And then proceeded to sniff me for like 5 minutes lol.

Longevity is fine.
Is it a projection beast? nah.
But who cares,
I can smell this on me literally all day and it is amazing, comfortable, easy to wear and it makes me happy.

samudex

It is citrus, marine, fresh. It is very pleasant but due to the type of notes it does not last long, after 2 or 3 hours you can feel it close to skin. I compare it to Versace Pour Homme, but more modern. It is halfway between cologne and blue fragrance.

ScentNSent

First things first, I believe this is criminally underrated and I think I know why. The name “ocean” definitely throws people off, I don’t think this is the typical “blue” fragrance people expected when they bought it. That being said I still think it’s a great fragrance, it has this creamy kinda smell to it, definitely a bit musky, aromatic & slightly powdery, in my opinion doesn’t really fall into the Luna Rossa line. But I love the scent regardless, doesn’t smell cheap, and pretty unique if you ask me, doesn’t exactly smell like anything else I own. Definitely a good buy IMO but try before you buy!

Milestone87

has the same dna like lunrosse carbon, but its his own thing. and its Beautiful, like to wear it. its for any situiation.

thelastpharaoh

This is a very good fragrance. Should be rated higher. I get a lot of compliments wearing this. It annoys me because I have some niche faves that I'm dying to get compliments on, but no, it's this one every time.

Reading reviews below it's funny to see how some people think it doesn't smell like the ocean at all and others think it smells too blue. But imo that actually shows the uniqueness of this fragrance. It's a bit of a chameleon. How it smells to you probably has to do with the last scent you smelled. Next to blue scents it is not very blue, more aromatic, fresh and powdery. Next to sweet scents it smells like the ocean, saltiness and all. The herbal and caramel notes are very cool and make this more interesting than a standard blue fragrance (which are usually heavily citrus throughout and some amber or wood in the base).

I couldn't see anyone saying this smells bad. Sure it may not be for you, but that doesn't mean it's bad. Imo this is an example of a designer fragrance done right. The only caveat I would add here is that it smells like 'Prada'. It smells a bit posh. Classy, a bit soapy. Definitely clean. If you're the type of guy who likes a bit of grunge, or swagger, or roughness...this probably won't be your vibe.

solulszabolcs

A very pleasant scent. For any occasion. I could recommend it to almost everyone who likes Parda fragrances.

Fragrance Notes

First day wearing my new bottle and I am sitting here feeling gooood. I don’t know yet if this is my new favorite but, it is definitely going to make my decision harder. The Bergamot off the top mixes so well with the Pink Pepper..there is no harshness to this at all at first spray. So smooth so easy to wear. The florals in the middle are not feminine to me at all…still keeps this scent feeling manly and smooth especially with a hint of that Iris making that Prada does so well. And that dry down leading to a nice warm bottom really brings this fragrance together perfectly for me.

Try this on skin. Wear it a while. To me, this is not a generic fragrance…it has some similarities to a degree with others but it has about a 7/10 in uniqueness which is hard to find these days. I give this a 9.5/10

Sticks

I really like this fragrance same with the whole luna rossa line especially the ocean spin off, i love the musk in this and I get a bit of musk in the edp but here it’s just so light and airy wich is strange cause I usually don’t like musk

8.1/10

CHRISTIANDIORDIOR

First cologne I've ever worn where I not only got not one compliment, I had family members asking why I smelled so bad and suggesting I take a shower. Maybe the sampler I got due to interest was from a bad batch, but this really just smells like an armpit to me.

If you like this smell, go for it, but DO NOT BLIND BUY, and I wouldn't get it as a signature because people will hate it.

I find it unique at least, so in a huge collection it could be an interesting addition, and the bottle is nice. Silage is strong, but in this case I don't think that's a good thing if you want your loved ones to not puke or faint.

xFragrantica

Your basic common freshy, used as a dumb reach.

MyBreedIsParfumé

I'm not a big fan of designer fragrances as sometimes they're just the next "revenue" aroma.
Prada Luna Rossa Ocean is something I really like, it opens very fresh and clean, a very different and surprising fresh smell compared to other freshy perfumes that's why I liked it and bought it, the dry down starts after 10-15 minutes passing from the iris and lavender which gives it the sweet syrup taste and after 0.5-1 hour moves to the aromatic musk.
I agree about the weak longevity and sillage, but this fragrance is not boring and it's something worth trying.

A lot of people don't understand the "Ocean" in it, but it's named more after the design of the bottle, rather than the scent. I've mistakenly bought EDP from the airport, which is a lot more sweet and the opening grapefruit/frankincense smell for me is unpleasent but as always this depends on personal taste.

Overall 8/10 .To all of you that want the smell to be more potent and strong, just accept it as it is and don't spare sprays - you know the EDT concentration is less, so just spray 5-10 times and the longevity is secured at least 3-4h on 1m around you and then it become a skin scent.

Agoycoy

Smell fresh and fresh this perfume doesn’t attack anyone nose

5 spray : 3 around your neck , 2 on both arms u good to go

Srben

I love Prada. I collect Prada. I have backup bottles of several of my Prada colognes, I love them so much. Unfortunately, Luna Rossa Ocean is a miss for me. It has the clean, powdery Prada d.n.a. that we all know and love, but there's a sweet, cheap bubblegum/candy note in it that just won't settle down. I've tried it several times, because I want to like it, but it's just not for me.

1uckynumb3r

Just another blue type of a fragrance..
Smells like a fresh deodorant, nothing special. Also, the performances are not that great.
Bdc edt has a better smell and quality, Dylan Blue is more interesting, Sauvage edt-another deodorant type of a smell with better performances. So why should you buy it?
Prada Carbon, Black, Ocean edp are better options from this line.
On a scale from 1 to 10 i'll give a 6.75

Une Belle Prunelle

There is nothing really wrong with this one, but there is nothing really great either. It smells good and that’s pretty much it. Great everyday scent for work, I can’t see someone being upset about it. There is NOTHING oceanic about it on my skin and the marketing around it has been screwed up imo. Underwhelming performance sadly.

bungulburt

I really thought I would like this more. It does have a slight "oceanic" way about it, but for the most part I get a heavy syrupy sweetness from some kind of cherry or plum note in the beginning. It's kind of hard to describe.

It's like the blue water they fill up porta-potties with. But in a good way. Or at least an okay way.

Not going to be in my summer rotation. Will probably trade eventually.

Vmaster

Sadly there is nothing Oceanic about this fragrance but it is an extremely nice "fresh and clean" offering from Prada.

Luna Rossa Ocean EdT is definitely a compliment getter and can be worn for most occasions. As it is not a projection beast, it would be perfect for cuddling with that special someone without choking them out.

This can be best worn during the warmer months of the year, but if you over-spray a little it can shine during the cold Winter months.

Notes according to the Prada website:
Top notes: Bergamot, Pink Pepper, Artemisia.
Heart Notes: Iris Notes, Lavender, Saffron Accord.
Base Notes: Vetiver, Musks, Patchouli.

daniteleki

One of the most beautiful musky drydown, I have ever smelled in a designer fragrance.

LeSmeller

In short, this is citrus cool and aromatic lavender. This is quite a complex and weird scent, because it's kind of your typical sour citrus breezy fresh, but on top of a very heavy base. It's like the took the base version, made it sour, and attached a heavy balast.

The scent is sour, aromatic, and soapy, yet dark and deep, like an ocean. Another way to imagine it is like a cross-section into the earth, an airy beach and a solid portion of rock beneath it. The rock is bitter herbal, earthy, and musky. Then there's lavender in the middle. Another image that comes up is coastal caves, partially submerged and shaded. The name and the bottle fit the scent well. It does feel wet somehow. Or maybe that's just a suggestion. The longevity is on the weak side.

Carolina Herrera 212 VIP Black by the same designers is somewhat similar, but more lavender-centered, better balanced, yet more abrasive. The dark part of Ocean reminds me of Acqua di Parma Oud, similarly sour, dark, and heavy. One could easily find suede in Ocean.

Update: after trying this again after some time, it struck me again how similar the opening is to Acqua di Parma Oud and how the heavy part is suede/leather. The whole scent is mostly citrus, lavender, musk, and suede.

smells like caprisun

certifiedborderhopper

smells really good, and performance isnt the best, but could worse

Puffice

Doesn’t smell very oceanic at all, which was odd to me. Despite having that generic cologne smell it’s actually pretty soft and mild and I like it to some degree. It’s comfortable and clean smelling

Kendrick

Good stuff!! Its fresh and clean but it doesn't last and in my opinion not worth the price.

SmoothieOperator

This is the type of fragrance I would be raving about if it was an under-the-radar, $25 release from Guess, because it's very 'delicious'. It just doesn't have the complexity nor performance for me to recommend it at $100.

- You need to wear too much of it when you leave the house for it to still be there later. That's why performance is important; not having to shower in it. Smell like an offensive bag of gummy bears for 3 hours, then nothing.

- Apparently there's a stringer EDP, but with completely different notes? Another reason to invest in a different direction.

OTA Mom

Aquatic with powdery orris

cheezcake

Great smell, super clean and fresh fragrance, would be a masterpiece, if only it lasted for more than 2 hours lmao

KerriZ

A citrus fresh aromatic mens fragrance. Packs a punch and stays consistent for hours. I got lots of the aromatic Artemis not a touch of caramel nevertheless a super affordable buy.

stevchonni

I got really nice compliments while wearing it today at work. Some of them were couple of hours after applying it and from the distance, so I guess it projects well.
After more than 10 hours on my neck and hair, I could still smell the beautiful lavendery and clean drydown.
To me, it is more refined and luxurious type of Bleu de Chanel scents but it does not scream that chemical shower gel freshness.
Instead, this is a bit soapy, clean, fresh and well balanced smell that you will certainly enjoy because nobody makes better this type of scents than Prada.

Rock76

Nice scent but unfortunately weak performance. Doesn’t last and Sillage almost non existent.

Kustomeyez

…….I’m on my 2nd bottle got the largest one this time, first one lasted me about a year or so. I love this stuff. I have over 300 frags in my collection, a lot of things smell quite similar to allot of other things in redundancy,… but Not this one. This one is all on its own unique. People say it smells generic, smells like shower gel , smells underwhelming, blah blah blah,.. It smells great and I can not even compare it to anything else. Don’t trust anyone but yourself, and perhaps your partner,.. get a sample and see for yourself. First few times I wore ocean I felt as if I need to use more in my application, so I did just that, went to the hardware store on my way to work and some random guy looked straight at me and said ,… woah Dude ,,, WaaaY too much cologne,… I looked him dead in the eyes and said 👌 Perfect ,… mission accomplished & walked away 🤷🏼♂️🤣😆 haters gonna hate and I personally Do Not Care 😎 this ocean is a 10/10 reminds me of the way my dad smelled after work, he worked in a grocery store and always had his shirts and suits dry cleaned, never smoked, he never really wore cologne either, maybe a splash of Stetson after shaving but that was it, he always came home smelling fresh almost somehow crisp and certainly clean. I always associated the smell with laundry detergent and that powdery soft smelling scented tissues inside a new cardboard box. I know it sounds strange, but oddly satisfying, 🤷🏼♂️ I love it . U might too.

realQuickrealFast

smells nice, pretty weak projection and longevity though. only works well in the outdoor summer heat

buhdumtss98

I don’t usually like aquatic scents, but this is really nice. The sweetness almost gives me pistachio ice cream vibe. Like eating pistachio ice cream on the boardwalk at the end of summer when it’s a little chilly, right before it turns to fall. Also feels clean like laundry detergent or dryer sheets. I’m a woman and usually go for super feminine stuff, but I would totally wear this myself, very unisex and easy to wear in my opinion.

MigFragrance

Beautiful, fresh, aromatic smell that is very versatile. Average performance, nothing special. Decent price-point, would recommend getting a larger size bottle for more sprays if you like this fragrance.

ehazen

Didn’t like it. Opening was nice but after 15 minutes I had to scrub it off my arm.

federico.rev

One of the worst fragrances ever smelled.
Here, in addition to being the usual pot of aromachemicals mess from designer modern “perfumery” where the art is extinct, the smell it gives off is comparable to bleach.
Repugnant

Learningtosmell

Smells a bit dated to my nose remind me of something ysl jazz so justifying this purchased would be a hard one and especially at this price point.

51notes

Love at first sniff. Fresh, spicy, blue, uplifting, just sweet enough, and not powdery like everything else on the dry down. Has enough depth for cold weather but clean enough for warmer as well. Can be used for anything anytime, great for office. I'm glad I got the 5oz because I reach for it a lot. Blind buy worthy, only fragrance worthy. Lasts long enough, double layer and it gets you through the day with plenty of sillage and just enough projection. Feel confident knowing you'll smell great to everyone but just different enough.

Muskyflower

It is was it is-
The opening on this is heavenly.

I dont think the longevity and projection on this is bad- the atomizer is just weak and mediocre. Doesnt spray a lot. So I just spray 2x on each application location.

gkortus

After about an hour i got a bubble gum and slight cinnamon note to it and honestly i love it, obviously not super strong or crazy long lasting especially at the price but a pretty easy every day and enjoyable cologne that can be worn for any occasion

nicholassua

cheap shower gel
cant believe it was made by Anne Flippo

ebm92i

Something about this makes you think it smells nice at first, I don’t know what it is, but after buying it and giving it few more sprays, turned out I really hated it.

mpierre89

First time I smelled this and I immediately thought this is niche quality.
If you take this juice and put it in a Creed bottle and name it 'Creed- Green Irish Tweed Absolu' I swear all the fragrance influencers on Youtube will be saying this is the next big thing after Aventus and how great this is.

Ginbae

Nice fresh that is a bit bubblegummy but in a good way. Like one of those hubba bubba. Not that long lasting (around 3h) but this is good for situations like work/school because it isn't that attacking.

Devilicious94

Prefer this over Prada L'homme/L'eau, still has the prada cleanliness with the iris and lavender, not too heavy but added depth with the musk and caramel sweetness. I wished they added salty notes for a fresh salted caramel vibe to really push that ocean name but nevertheless still a modest blue fragrance if you are looking for something in-between fresh and sweet. Expectedly weak performance on this style of fragrance, the EDP version takes a drastic turn with even less notes for an ocean vibe and no iris.
7/10

shadowind123

smells absolutely amazing. although barely any projection or longevity

Simbathedoodle

I like how Prada Luna Ocean smells. For sure a different "Blue" Having said that, I can not recommend it. It becomes a skin scent after an hour to two hours. I would agree with many of the reviews, Ocean is extremely overpriced for what you get. Even at $40 to $50 would not be worth it.

Jordysmellsgud

It smells like the og w/out the pepper and maxed out vanilla w/ocean accords to make up for the spice/pepper reduction. To me this smells like chanel allure homme sport but like someone dumped some Armani code into the mix. It's fresh but mature like it'd be good for the gym or a date night in winter. Versatility is what comes to mind with this.

hrrdv

this fragrance in my opinion does smell oceanic, there isn’t too much to say as it is sort of basic but in my opinion this is a good summer fragrance and is still something i would wear as i’m not into most fresh scents with citrusy notes, i really like the lavender in this though, it is it’s most prominent note, but overall it’s a decent summer fragrance, not overpriced or overpowering and likeable by everyone so i give it a 8/10

K I N G G . A R T T

When I smelled it at first, I wasn't impressed by ANY means. I said "this is it? This is what all the hype is about?" It smelled like a typical blue fragrance and the performance was trash. Then I went outside and only sprayed it on my skin. It lasted quite a while, but the sillage was very intimate. If you can get it for a decent price, go for it.

justwonderingsomesutff

Had it for months and my views have always been the same, it's amazing it's so many things so well, fresh, aquatic kind of sweet. it's similar to other DNAs but it's better than sauvage and Dylan blue. as great as it is the preformance DEMANDS a overspray so do that and you're gonna be golden.

Golden96

This is an understated fresh blue denim/suede scent. You’ll want to overspray for sure (5 minimum.) This is one of those fragrances where when someone gets a whiff it’ll draw them in closer to make sure it’s you they’re smelling. Or when you sit down next to someone & you see them take a deep inhale to get a better grasp of the aroma. This is a clean guy who’s not flashy but likes to have fun & take in new experiences. 7.7/10

linouce

Maybe I'm just generally not a big fan of blue fragrances, but I find Luna Rossa Ocean to be extremely boring and uninspired. It's a bit like wearing jeans; not particularly horrible or anything, but so many people wear it that it becomes overdone. You can find better everyday scents IMO, for example Terre d'Hermès.

lxaxtxi

Its warmth is what makes this frag, for me.

A nice contrast to its “blue frag” feel.

Commander3778

I am extremely disappointed by this, mostly because I really loved the bottle design and that attracts me a lot when it comes to colognes besides their scent. I’am, however, VERY GLAD I did not waste money on a 100ml bottle or worse, a gift box. I just got a sample to test this out and this is my impression:

-smell is very generic, I do not get the hype but then again I got hyped by the bottle itself
-it does not even last half an hour, sits very VERY close to skin you can barely detect it yourself, I literally catch whiffs of my conditioner more than this cologne after putting it on
-I honestly think there should only be one note on there: aromatic. Because that is all you’ll be catching when you spray this on, the bergamot and maybe pepper? Otherwise, absolutely no depth whatsoever.

All in all, if you want a night summer scent, that you probably want to last for the rest of the night or at least when you walk out the door, do not get Prada Ocean.

BDK

The longevity complaints I understand, but this fragrance is in no way boring to me. I bought this despite the longevity reviews because this DNA IS AWESOME. Very fresh yet sophisticated. nothing clashes as it’s masterfully blended. Iris and musk behind a fresh curtain of sage and citrus all on that base of caramel (really an undefined sweet note to my nose but I suspect it’s the caramel.) I will say, the clock strikes midnight on this one in a very short time period. I’d say after about 90 minutes this is probably 6 inches of projection on skin that isn’t bone dry, but would still work in intimate situations. I’d say this is extremely versatile, more so than the edp, considering that one is sweeter and more in your face with the caramel imo. I actually prefer the smell of the edt and it would work in all seasons except winter, I imagine this doesn’t project well enough for temps under 50F. If you have travel/decant sprayer bottles this is definitely a good candidate for that application if you want to smell like it for an extended period of time. Usually below average performance turns me away from paying for something that’s hard to find at a discount, but this one smells so damn good i had to get it.

Citrus/Bergamot dies almost immediately. Then we get the Lavender Iris and Vetiver. This slowly becomes dominated by the sweetness of the caramel. Not a huge fan of burning from blue to sweet blah. I can understand that some have been trained to think of sweet as sophisticated and more power too them. This is just a bland candy caramel sweet and really doesn't bring anything to the table. It is fortunately not very strong.

amar.dzinic

I absolutely love this scent I got it for a birthday present and was the first cologne that drew me towards cologne collecting. It has a amazing aromatic scent that leads to a flowery scent but still manly. I absolutely love vetiver smells, and usually I hate caramel scents but I'm in love with this. Its so well blended I feel like it smells better than some niche fragrances just doesn't have the longevity and sillage most niche fragrances have, the bottle is beautiful simple but prada really hit with this fragrance. Its a safe blindbuy for anyone ive never met anyone that hasn't liked it honestly, especially if you love a oceanic flowery smell.

Ozymandias62

Out of all my scents , Oud for greatness, Dior Sauvage EDP, spice bomb intense, Hermes Terre intense. Prada Luna Rosa EDT is my favorite. But its longevity is so disappointing, in just a few hours , it’s a skin scent and then hardly that. So I don’t try to wear it anymore. Well what do you expect for a EDT?, I didn’t know I was buying an EDT at the time, had I knew that …I probably wouldn’t have brought the bottle. I thought the EDP was going to be great. But in my opinion, the EDT smells better, and the longevity of the EDP is about the same has the EDT. Disappointing, think I’ll pass on the EDP…though it gets good reviews online…not many of them are talking about the EDP.

Ay&do

Need to refresh every 3 hours, sits close to skin after an hour. Sillage is good for an hour
Generally well smelling fragrence. Clean smooth fresh and citrusy opening and than musk, artemisia caramel adding richness to the fragrance. iris and pachouly not dominant my advise to you don’t buy parfum version instead of edt version becouse edp version very heavy and not rich and fresh like edt version. Edt is quite good blue kind of frags for summer all need to refresh often

Anabol2336

Once again here is an example of a wonderful smelling fragrance that is cursed with below average performance. Just like La Nuit de L' homme and D&G the One before it. If it even had at least average performance I'd buy another bottle, but at the moment it's lumped in with my La Nuit de L' Homme and D&G the One which are used for close encounters at home and nothing more because basically nobody can even smell it. Such a pity. Oh well maybe we will get lucky and Prada will here our complaints and reformulate this one to be a bit stronger similar to how PDM did with Sedley. That one went from a worthless watered down eau de cologne in 2019 to an aquatic beast by 2021. Let's keep our hopes up. If you want an awesome fragrance from Prada that smells like luxury hotel soap a bit like Prada L' Homme, but far Less flowery and a bit more masculine with well above average performance I highly recommend Prada Amber Pour Homme. I'm using it in 100 degree heat and the thing lasts from morning until I come home at night and shower. Very underated and a true hidden gem.

Super boring

sheylaarreguina

Oh my freaking god, I'm a woman but had to leave my review. I bought this for my husband. I got him the EDT. This is such a nicely blended aromatic fragrance. I can pick up the lavender and the sage, so invigorating, and the dry down is truly beautiful, sweet, oceanic and very high class. This one actually smells expensive, not niche but expensive. He gets so many compliments with this and on his skin it lasts for hours. You have to have this in your collection if you like to smell clean, fresh, sexy and expensive.

Theend98

Has a classic feel to it but upgraded to todays standard year "blue" fragrance. Buts it same addicting but weak :( the EDP isn't better then the OG even tho its a little bit longer lasting. It misses the mark of why its so addicting (top notes being citris and spice, mid notes having aromatics like the lavander and sage woww and the most important peace iris, base notes musk and vetiver going hand to hand and the touch of sweet caramel) hands down a great blend. Prada plz make a perfume intense.

Tshahb

One of the best of this ilk

For the price it puts MFK to shame, as if this was packaged in an MFK bottle for 300 euros I'd believe it. However that's more of an indictement of MFK than than high praise of Prada.

What I like about Prada is they use Ambroxan and Ambrocenide sparingly (take note MFK and Dior).

A powdery, lavendery blue fragrance that stands out from the rest.

Also, the iris is strong, so if you like Armani Code Parfum, this is cheaper and better.

Now I'm into the drydown and the vetiver comes through. This is a very good, complex fragrance with stages, great for the price.

Whateverwhocares

Typical soapy water cologne with a powerful aromatic and fresh zest that sets it apart. Good, not great.

Muskyflower

Very well rounded and smooth scent. Just professional quality blend from Prada. This is a very soapy and fresh scent, Iris lavender bomb- with a slight sweetness from the caramel which rounds out the fragrance. I actually like the caramel note in this.

I fell in love with this fragrance from opening to dry down- I loved every second of wearing this! This is one of those fragrances that just made me fall in love with life. Easy to wear.

But then, I really started to pick up the suede note, ever so discreet in the background. Then I felt as if I had smelled this scent before. It just seemed familiar.

When I returned home, I looked at my collection and noticed my bottle of Versace dreamer (2010 reformulation). When I first wore Versace Dreamer, it didn't make me fall in love like PLR ocean. However, I do detect similarities.

So today I will be giving versace dreamer a wear to see how it makes me feel and to test how similiar the two fragrances really are.

Will come back and edit after a full wearing.

Ps. Applied PLR Ocean around noon time- could still smell around 8 pm. Longevity is fine. I applied 4 sprays total- 2 sprays on each arm. I find that I personally go less nose blind if u don't spray my neck, chest and shoulders.

Edit: very similiar to versace dreamer- not doubt about. However, still worth the buy for several reasons:
1. Longevity is better on Ocean
2. Projection is better on Ocean
3. Iris note is far more beautiful on ocean.
4. Ocean is smoother, better blended, rounder, easier to wear.
5. Caramel note as just a hint of sweetness which I enjoy.
6. Dreamer sits closer to the skin- more sprays required.
7. Overall Prada executed this scent profile better in every way- from scent to performance

I will pick up a FB Of Prada Luna Rossa Ocean. However, Versace Dreamer will always be in my collection as well.

mcanter123116

Really smooth and classy smelling. I don’t get much “ocean” but I do get fresh and clean for sure. The caramel note is faint but that mild sweetness helps round it out. After a few minutes on skin I can go nose blind to it but my son likes to steal it and I can smell it clear as day on him so I think performance might be better than people think.

Naoto

Just received a sample and I quite like it. It is sweet (as people say "caramel like") with a hint of soapiness, yet not overpowering. It is great for spring and summer on any occasion, but the silage and the projection are a bit weaker as eau de pafume....the buyers should expect this as eau de toilet.

Rogerant

Had a free sample of this one and I really don't like it at all. Prada usually has that clean soapiness this is quite funky in the opening and why us that caramel notes in there. Just not a good blend at all. The origional is the best in high heat just my opinion

Trueblood84

This one is a real bummer, the first miss from Prada IMHO. It smells like a perfume version of axe phoenix which I hate and I also feel like it's DNA is not worth the high price. It performs ok but that it's saving grace. 5/10

drmarsiglia

I don't really like it, to my nose it smells a bit like Boss Bottled but more powerful, it becomes fresher in the dry down, more enjoyable and natural cause at the beginning smells so synthetic, doesn't remind to the ocean at all but more to a river in autumn..

Longevity: 8/10
Projection: 8/10
Scent: 5/10

andrewg

Reminds me so much of BDC Parfum. Would be redundant to own both. BDC Parfum has much better longevity and smells richer and better. Get this if you want to smell similar without breaking the bank.

Nice, caramel, powdery iris, some blue aquaticness for the summer and to top things off, I'm not sneezing from its freshness/slighty soapiness. For causal and job situations, It's go time for this scent in a good way.

I had an off and on like and no feelings towards this fragrance ever since it hit retailers eventually making up my mind after several testings. And recently got a bottle. It performs well, kind of sophisticated to my nose and its in a class of own because of the unique notes.

It's smelling great on me right now and I feel confident with it on.
For example there is a part in a movie where let's say a older relative gave a younger relative some money and told them to get themself something nice a make sure everyone sees it, well, in relation to this fragrance review, I wouldn't mind if everyone smelled this on me. :)

Niki778

The fragrance opens with a weird almond-y blast, sort of like Givenchy Pi, but lingers only for a few seconds then dries down to pink pepper and lavender. It opens with a synthetic smell but then rounds off better. To me it’s big on the lavender and iris while the Ocean part of this fragrance is just that small hint of salt you get on the drydown.

The name doesn’t really do it’s justice but it is quite a safe option for the office or everyday use. All in all, I like it, but don’t blind buy it. If you like Bleu de Chanel with more lavender and iris this would be good for you

fragrantlyenhanced

awwh.. naah.. falls flat in my opinion. not for the price you can have so many other better frags.

Deyon84

Basic young smell that gives the vibe of adolescence. Soapy clean smell that really isn’t captivating. Reminds of nautica voyage type scent.

LilJoe

Starts nice and fresh but dries down within an hour into a powdery, floral, generic, feminine scent. I can see how some might consider this unisex, but it is definitely not masculine leading, as it is much too floral to my nose.

NamertBaykus

Well-blended quality powdery lavender scent. Nothing ocean about it. Poor longevity and sillage for the price.

Dumbplings

How many blue scents exist that are actually powdery? there really isn't that many powdery blue scents. And I don't care what people say about this being generic, unoriginal or whatever because they're wrong. You can't name be even 5 blue scents that are powdery. Regardless of what people say this is different for a blue fragrance and unique and the reason why I care about whether it's powdery or not is because I always match fragrances with clothes and occasions. I want a nice blue powdery scent to match my light baby blue clothes and to wear on certain occasions where you want something a little softer and not as fresh like think of a summer night or a summer date, etc..yes it can be worn during warm weather but this is one of those summer nights or date night during summer fragrances to wear instead of the basic sweet/ambery/vanilla frags people normally wear on dates

The hate for this is completely unjustified

Anhicek

Iris+lavender with a twist saltiness of caramel which ruins the cleanliness. Very salty smell all along.

ArmanH

The reviewers below me just described my EXACT feeling: Starts with salty flowers. Ends with salty wood. Luckily I just got a sample. I would feel REALLY pissed off if this was a blind buy (I don't recommend blind buying to anyone). Scrubbing off is impossible for the next few hours. I feel sick when I smell this on my arm...

nicholassua

Bleu de Chanel without incense and put iris into

ViceCity

For the first time in my life, I feel disappointed with a Prada product - a brand I was trustworthy enough to blind buy (while being on a day-long visit of Milan, I wished to keep a fragrance as souvenir of my visit there).

As has been pointed out in a few reviews it has nothing oceanic about it. But that is hardly the worst thing: the biggest let-down is that the opening notes smell like medicine! From that moment the sickening combination of pepper and bergamot never really goes away and the lavender, which is one of my favourite notes in perfumery, is never quite felt.

It's a totally underwhelming perfume that's barely saved by a half-decent dry-down. For half the price one can buy Azzaro Sport which smells kind of similar IMO and has similarly weakish performance, but while costing half the amount.

monsieur.moustache

Starts with salty flowers. Ends with salty wood. Sounds like a hot date, but performance is lacking due to low stamina.

As a female, I find this to be one of the sexiest colognes on a man, especially in the summertime.

ISiCK

Prada's Luna Rossa Ocean is an average scent. Admittedly, its not my go-to fragrance among my collection but it does stand out as slightly different. The packaging of this product is elegant and will look great on any collector's shelf.

At first spray, you get a fresh clean scent that eventually sweetens. With that in regard, "Ocean" is quite confusing as it gives off the idea that this will smell like an aquatic scent similar to the likes of Dolce's Light Blue or even Nautica Voyage. The smell is still "nice" however, but nice is not what I had expected from Prada.

This cologne is average and not worth the $90+ asking price. There are much better products to choose at the price range.

I received this product as a free sample from Influenster.

boozya

Yeah, I don't get this one. Not that other Luna Rossa flankers were particularly unique or original, but at least the quality and character was there. Ocean is decidedly on the lower end of the copycat spectrum, something you'd expect from Bath and Body Works or Axe, just this nondescript bland forgettable "fresh" deodorant smell that is like a million others.
The bottle is nice though.

Would I recommend it?

Yes, It has a lovely fresh opening, probably one of my favourite openings however, the performance isn't the best it lasts 1.5h best case and then it becomes a skin scent for around 3-4 hours, In my case I think its best to spray this on both your skin and clothes this way it has much better longevity however, it's much more suited for skin rather than clothes though. Dry-off isn't particularly bad either, it performs best during hot weather so summer is the best time to wear this, you could pull it off during spring as well. I recommend getting EDP rather than EDT as it performs much better.

enro

Great, fresh opening, but the dry down turns sour, synthetic and off-putting on my skin. It’s too bad, this could’ve been a nice summer scent.

Very cool bottle design though.

I bought this and the new EDP version. I’m returning the EDT and keeping the EDP.

Cutfreeordie

Perhaps I’m the only one, but I get a Cool Water vibe from this. Almost like this could have been a flanker in an alternate universe.

Overall it’s fine. Nothing to be amazed by, but nothing to scoff at either. I find it to be best suited for mid to late 20s and up, and business friendly. Like a few others have stated, it feels a bit more rain aquatic than oceanic to my nose.

Dàithì Lòchà

Perfume has become as boring and predictable as the snowflake assholes who scream utter garbage about it. I have never smelled a scent that made me ill, instantly wanting to scrub it off or was offended that it didn't suit my taste. This one like all others smells pleasant and does its job. Perfume won't give you what you're lacking, but you will at least be a pleasant smelling boring cunt.

Tonic

It is the best smelling Luna Rossa fragrance but longetivity is an issue. Works best if you apply a few sprays throughout the day.

fin710

It seems like you either like or dislike this fragrance, personally I actually quite like it. Smells very synthetic, reminiscent of shower gel but is overall a decent scent. Bought it during a summer holiday and worked very well for that occasion, definitely seems to project more the hotter it is outside. 7/10

Lhomme_Juanco

As unique as the note breakdown might seem (for a blue fragrance) it’s quite boring and generic. Not worth it imo, very redundant and overpriced for what it is. Just like any Prada fragrance nowadays, more rounded copies of popular fragrances
Carbon - more rounded sauvage
Black- more rounded Le Male le parfum
Sport- of Le male
Ocean- Dylan blue with some Burberry touch

Ambroxer

I don’t smell anything that remotely reminds me of an ocean, but that’s not stopping me from enjoying the scent. This, to me, is more like an ocean of shower gel. All the associations that may bring fit really well to my nose. I get a strong, sharp, citrusy bergamot paired well with a fuzzy amborxan type note. It’s very familiar and very blue, yet easily achieves what it’s setting out to do, which is be an appealing, anytime fragrance.

Prada adds a touch of iris, and it appears more and more as the fragrance gets into the mid and beyond. It’s a bit powdery and does a good job cutting through Ocean’s overall “blue-ness” adding it’s own unique touch to the typical shower gel fragrance formula.

As I continue to smell Ocean, I’m growing more and more enraptured with it. My sample is giving me above average longevity and projection, definitely a surprise given the performance of some Prada scents I’ve had in the past. Overall, it’s making a very compelling case to purchase a bottle, not an easy feat for me these days and especially difficult given the obvious redundancy this would have in my collection. At the least, I am now very excited for the forthcoming Eau de Parfum.

Deadknight79

I just received the new edp and let me tell you, it's AMAZING! If you like this one (edt) then you're going to love the new edp. It opens with an amazing fresh and airy scent followed by a cool dry down and then the musk. Buy it!

Noobfragrance89

I am just starting to grow my collection. I do like ocean but I felt like something was missing. I blind bought the EDP because I very much like the EDT and hopefully it has the missing pieces in there.

andrewg

Office friendly. As always prada releases gems. Have sampled a few times but not unique enough to justify getting a bottle. Will this pull compliments? Yes. I would only get if you don't have alot of soapy type of scents. My favorite in the Luna Rossa line is Black with a close second being Carbon.

@Sparx0z, The Eau De Parfum is already available at Dillards.

CologneGuru

First impressions: This is a really great everyday/ signature scent. Very versatile, work safe. In your mind you may think “nothing special” and “nothing new here” but nothing smells like it. And then with that signature prada iris in the middle, im liking this a lot!

jaa4

One of my favorites. although it is sweet it is not the overbearing and cloying in the heat type. Really good longevity on me personally.

Brother Wolf

Oh, NO!!! Please, forgive me folks, but I am very disappointed and quite shocked with this fragrance and the fact that it was created by Prada. I’m not one to complain much, but I have to be truthful. I own most of the Prada scents for men and I must say that I am more than impressed with all of them. However, I had such high hopes for this one and I got a pie in the face. I don’t want to spoil or taint the experience for any of you who are thinking of trying this one, so I won’t go into all of the heavy details. However, I WILL say that I don’t catch the “ocean” vibe and the musk note in the dry down is definitely a deal breaker for me. It’s a very interesting and quite pleasant fragrance up until then. To each his own though. You may actually love it, but get a sample and wait for the dry down before placing your money on the counter.

BEWARE: Do not get too excited about this fragrance like I did, unless you like the feeling of a pie smacking you across your mugshot. Sample it first on your skin, clothing, etc., before going all in. You’ve been warned.

Tre de Fill

A combination of freshness and warmth. A very beautiful scent. It's not strong and long lasting, but I'm not complaining. Good quality and beautiful bottle. Rating 8.5/10

Jpujols

Just went to Dillard's yesterday and purchased the EDP version of Prada Luna Rossa Ocean. I cannot find any reviews online about it and i don't own the EDT so i can't compare them side by side. The person that sold it to me said they just got the EDP last week. So far it lasted on my skin around 8 hours and on my clothes all day! Has a delicious sweet/spicy/fresh open and a beautiful powdery dry-down with that creamy caramel and Iris. I went to Dillard's to purchase Bleu de Channel EDP and ended up walking out with PLRO. Go get this!!

TipTopNotes

This smells almost exactly like dryer sheets or laundry detergent. You know when you pass by a house that's running their dryer, and the laundry room's venting out the hot, scented air? This smells like that to a T. Except instead of being a thick, hot scent, it's actually a very watery, refreshing chiller of a fragrance. Ocean cools you off on particularly-hot days, mentally if not physically.

The caramel note that perplexes people in this composition doesn't really stick out, just rounds out the base with a subtle sweetness while combining with the bergamot to create an altered, seemingly-orange accord, as well as thickening up the already-fuzzy and clean lavender + iris.

I get what they were going with regarding the marketing material. Jake Gyllenhaal getting drenched with a cold rain, the scene behind him a dark grey/blue hue. They knew it was a cold scent, too. Though, a better name would've been Prada Luna Rossa Rainfall or Mist or something else rain-related instead of Ocean. Doesn't really bring to the table many accords that bring an ocean to mind. Instead, I envision the fuzzy, warm glow that radiates during a thunderous storm as you travel through the weather. I also imagine the flame of a scorching day snuffed as one takes a bracing plunge into floral-laced waters. The beauty is that it is such a fluid scent that it can really go both ways.

All in all, a refreshing and fresh + clean fragrance with a liquid feel to it -- perfect during the gloomiest, wettest days of the year, as well as the mid-year scorchers.

Tony Shades

Whoever gets stuck on the iris note and composes the evaluation based on that is wrong in my opinion. If you take a break and ignore the iris note for a sec, you will realize it's not a main note, but only adds smoothness and roundness to this otherwise marine Bleu type fragrance. Without the iris it would only be more "crunchy" woody aromatic, not dramatically different.

NPC_73293721

This smells way better than Luna Rossa Carbon.
The end.

dantheman352

Prada Luna Rossa Ocean is a great designer quality fragrance as are all Prada fragrances. As a bonus, it comes in a beautiful bottle presentation that will look great on anyone's collection.

PLRO evokes the scent of the Ocean. Not sure how I pick this up because the notes are deceiving. It reminds me of walking along the beach in the Azores with the foam surrounding my feet projecting the salty nature of the waters.

This scent has Bergamot and Pepper creating a spicy fresh opening, followed by Lavender and Iris providing a clean, powdery accord, resting on a base of Musk, Patchouli, and Vetiver creating a musky, and woodsy vibe throughout the life of the fragrance. The caramel note brings a subtle sweetness. Surprisingly enough it does not last long on my skin. The Beautiful opening lasts about 30 minutes and then it's gone to a skin scent. Perhaps it will work better with direct sunlight during hot days.

Although blind buy worthy, office safe, very pleasant, and mass-appealing, it's not my favorite from the line. Nevertheless a good choice.

Sweetboy05

I'm wearing this on my arms right now and oh, my goodness! This smells amazing! I love it!

Fragrancee123

This give vibe like weaker Prada L'Homme.

cubed

Opens with a pop of pink pepper and citrus, then a powdery lavender and iris emerges. The iris accord is very similar to that in Prada L'Homme. The drydown is soft and musky. Well-blended from opening to drydown. I do get a subtle marine/oceanic vibe from this, but in my head I imagine calm waters and a cool, gentle breeze, as opposed to violent tides and salty, foamy water.

Luna Rossa Ocean also shares the signature clean, powdery accord you get in other Prada fragrances. Its pleasant and inoffensive; mass-pleasing, but not too generic. Makes for an excellent work/office scent.

sipmerchant

I’m super disappointed with this one tbh. It smells pretty good but yeah it just doesn’t project at all. Also kinda boring idk to me it’s just a lavender bomb

Fabio01

In blue fragrances style, its amazing, fresh, sweet, musky... something under dylan blue and ysl edp. More complex than we feel in first sniff, and unique. decent performance. 8.5/10

hussrahal

Smells good, but for me at least it's one of the weakest scents I have ever tried on skin.

Mjchaelj

The definition of a safe scent. Very pleasant citrusy lavender. Clean and mass pleasing. I like it, it’s a perfect fragrance for when you get out of the shower. As for the caramel note, I don’t think I can detect it. Not bad, but not incredible.

Jake7917

Love love love this one. Opening smells very sweet like candy. It smells super delicious. You get a nice bit of citrus and some other flowers and scents.

Only complaint it this doesn’t last long. I have a full bottle for home and the 10ml I bring when I go out, and reapply every 1-2 hours. That initial smell is amazing.

Projection isn’t too great, but I like that, as I’m a firm believer in more subtle scents that don’t knock out the room. Many people in my life love this one too, and I’ve had many friends ask what kind of cologne this is and if they could try it.

Still one of my favourites. A signature as well. Especially for warmer months. Too bad it doesn’t last super long.

Tony Shades

Basically the softer lighter Italian version of Bleu de Chanel, with a more modern twist.

ZephyrDavid

Beautiful blue'ish scent.
Aromatic, fresh style scent with which you can't get go wrong with it.
Better than other Blue frangrances.
Levander gives the aromatic and a caramel the sweetness to it.

Update. My batch is very weak. The opening is strong but it last around 20 minute. After that the whole scent fade away within 1 hour. Barerly smells on my clothes.
A little bit dissapointed.
I would suggest to go Armani Code Parfum instead of this!

j4yt33

Aquatic, but not marine. Smells of artemisia, mint and ambroxan. Some musky powdery note is in there that gives it a distinct smell of bubblegum. I don't really get actual lavender, more this kind of lavender interpretation you can also find in the Carbon flanker. It does remind me of another fragrance but I can't quite put my finger on it. Kinda interesting but also a bit odd. Not sure about this one. Overall a bit too screechy for me I think

Compositeur

Curiosity won and had to test this. It's a tale of 2 perfumes. First hour it seems to oscillate between being similar to Bleu de Chanel Parfum and Dior Homme Original. I think Chanel wins. i.e. lavender wins over iris (that's how my nose perceives it). Nothing wrong with any of that, but the initial strong sillage dies down fairly quickly. As that happens, vetiver comes forth, but that doesn't last long either.
Second phase is mostly musk and a hint of lavender. So, fabric conditioner basically.
Obviously, nothing to do with the ocean. It feels like it could have been a good scent, but somehow fails.

Dexcom@349

I love this fragrance. It lasts about 8-9 hours on my skin and projects well. It's very fresh and citrusy and great for spring/summer.

Elfin Will

A beautiful aromatic fragrance. Not being a fan of iris usually, this is the second time I am pleasantly surprised by a perfume containing iris, and both by Prada: Infusion d'Iris and Prada Luna Rossa Ocean. I think that finally it is not the iris that I do not like, but the way it is done. At Prada, it is always a success apparently!

I loved this perfume, from its opening to its complete evolution. Besides, this is not an aquatic blue perfume as the name and color might lead you to believe, BUT the bergamot/iris/lavender blend gives it that feel. I can clearly smell the vetiver as well, but luckily for me, it's not a sour vetiver, it's well softened by the floral, suede and caramel notes. It also has a shy but pleasant sweetness in the drydown.

This scent makes me think of Mediterranean cities!

8/10

dayonee

I thought this was Prada's take on an aquatic scent but don't let the name fool you. This is not a straight up aquatic fragrance like, per se, ADG Profondo or Bvlgari Aqua line. Even the note breakdown, if you look at them without knowing what perfume it is, no one would suspect that it's an aquatic.

With that being said..

The freshness and mild sweetness in the opening give off a subtle saltiness that does remind one of an ocean scent or at least allow one to make a connection to its name. Such an ADDICTING opening. The smoothness of the iris mixed with lavender in the mid is LOVELY; personally, no one does iris better than Prada. Super versatile (i think this can be pulled off in the winter, too), totally inoffensive, safe blind buy. I'm a blue addict but this is not a typical blue fragrance, in my opinion; in a class of its own. GREAT SCENT.

EDIT:
As much as I LOVED the smell of this, for some reason, it just did not last on me. Perhaps skin chemistry. Projected for about an hour and then I really had to dig my nose in to catch a whiff of it. No, I did not become anosmic to it. Such a shame it didn't work out, returned the bottle with sadness. Still rating it 5/5 because the scent is awesome.

RE-EDIT:
Just like my Dior Homme Sport, missed this scent too much. Hell with the longevity. Rebought it, 5 oz big boy bottle, decided to overspray if it needs be. YOLO.

BigLongNose

I wish oceans smelled like this

I really enjoy wearing Luna Rossa Ocean. True to the bottle’s coloration, this fragrance is a dark blue. At times, it is a little too dark for my mood that day. In its dark way, Ocean smells aggressively clean. It is really strong when you smell it off the initial spray, but fades fast. And the longevity is not great on it either. About 6-7hrs. I get some lavender and a good amount of iris off the dry down. Yes, I agree with others, the drydown is great, but I enjoy the opening as well. If it lasted longer, this would be a phenomenal fragrance. It is still great, and I enjoy wearing it. I’m through half my bottle.

Nothing groundbreaking, it's just ok. It is somewhat unique, i can't think of any fragrance that smells like this one. I whoudn't whear this in cold wheather as it's allready a weak performer, after 2 hours it becomes a skin scent and after 6 hours and it's completelly gone

OliC85

For some reason I don't like this one at all, to me it smells of salty seaweed. I have tried to wear it on many occasions throughout the summer, fall and winter and I won't grow on me. I have also tried spraying on clothing I stead of body to see if that makes a difference, sadly it didn't.

Spendog

While it starts off uninventive and lacking in personality, this cologne definitely shows itself later on and become's a really nice scent that you can wear just about anywhere, at any time. Much like other members of the luna rossa line by prada, it's innoffensive and easy to wear. However out of the ones i've tested this is easily my favourite of the line and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to try it.

OlfactoryTingle

So, this might come across as something that's very uninspired when you hit the trigger on this for the first time.
You get an alcoholic tinge right away if you don't let it settle down before sniffing, which is justified, given that it's an EDT.

On the first spray, you'll notice some bergamot hitting you right in the face, the same kind that's used in nearly all blue fragrances you've smelt before added with that fresh patchouli. This is perhaps the only thing you'll be able to sniff for the first 5 minutes and probably will make you think that this is just a disappointment.

However, after about 10 minutes, you start getting this fresh linen smell, which I think is a mix of iris and lavender, smells really pleasant. Imagine a guy, just out of the shower in a clean white linen shirt just out of the laundry, this is what it smells like. It's really very pleasant. I agree that nobody does Iris better than Prada for men's fragrances. It's fresh, it's clean, it's mildly floral but not in a feminine way.

Slowly, you start getting those woody, peppery notes that resemble a clean non-earthy Vetiver to my nose, which is just toned down enough by some suede. It smells inviting and really lovely.

The performance could have been a little better in my opinion. But, if you don't mind overspraying a bit, it might just work wonders for you. It's a really nice work fragrance in my opinion. Especially for the summers. It's just about the perfect amount of Sillage and freshness to make it someone's daily driver. It's not as in your face like Dior's Sauvage EDT or as sophisticated as BDC, definitely not as playful as YSL Y EDP, but it's a nice take on a blue fragrance done in a very subtle manner.

prettymachines

honestly i'm confused by how many people are saying this is such a masculine scent. i find this to be such a perfect neutral smell as i tent to feel a little overwhelmed by other perfumes rated as masculine as this one

willnpc40

This smells very nice but the longevity absolutely KILLS it. I love Prada colognes but this one should have came in a 5.1oz like Water Splash because you'll need to reapply it every hour. It also should have been cheaper than other Pradas.

5/10 Great but horrible longevity

michaeld2986

I really wanted to like this one, but it sits close to the skin on me and after 3 hours I don't smell it at all. It's mass appealing and safe. Not much more to say about it really.

Dixieland Delight

This smells nothing like Dylan Blue to me.

Also, it's very nice as designer blue freshies go.

Sweet, clean, floral, almost grapey at the opening.

Itay2005

Bought this for half price blindly and I’m really love this fragrance.

caifan

Luna Rossa Ocean is a floral, aquatic and aromatic fragrance.

The opening is fresh, with a few fleeting citruses, but it is mainly herbal, floral and very pleasant. As the minutes go by, some spices are perceived, such as pink pepper and some tobacco tone, but with an aroma definitely in line with blue fragrances. In its drying phase, an aroma of lavender and musk is perceived, providing a soapy sensation.

This is a fragrance for daytime use, it is fresh, energetic and very aromatic. It is inclined to casual use, going out with friends, at school and office use, and it is very versatile, it is practically a four-season fragrance, because it could be used at any time of the year.

Its aroma I could perceive until about 8 hrs. with me, with a regular screening.

His style is near to Dylan Blue by Versace.

I recommend it for young people who are looking for a fragrance that is a signature scent, but give it a try first.

EliThePoopy

I just love this fragrance man , its sweet but not nauseating , it's a little synthetic but I like it , the opening is really great where as the dry is good with that sweet caramel and iris. This isn't just your ordinary blue fragrance , it's very unique and I can honestly say this can be considered as its own fragrance , I haven't smelled anything like this fragrance here , highly recommend if you want something different.

Funky_Monk1988

This is def not just another blue fragrance. It's unique in its darkness. Yes, it's a lavender bomb, but what's not to like about that? Unfortunately only lacking in longevity for me. So I really hope there's coming an EDP or parfum version of this one.

I'm a fan of both Carlos Benaim and Anne Flipo, and i hope they'll team up again soon :)

SenselessReviews

In 2010, a group of dissident perfumers gathered for a secret meeting in the "chill cave" of Calvin Broadus, better known as Snoop Dogg. Flush with cash and ready to pursue his true love of perfumery, the lanky Broadus laid out his vision for a groundbreaking new fragrance called "Fo Shizzle."

Broadus envisioned a fragrance that would capture the desperation, danger, and outrage of the thug life. He also wanted it to smell like root beer. Eleven years and many reformulations later, we finally got the aptly renamed "Luna Rossa Ocean," complete with a tie-in marketing song by Snoop Dogg entitled "I Wish (That The Ocean Was Weed)."

If you think of your fragrance collection as a high school gymnasium, then "Luna Rossa Ocean" is the foam Nerf ball with a big chunk missing. Too much bergamot, too much sage, and too much lavender make my olfactory senses bounce around like the ladies of "Baywatch" operating a jackhammer.

On this one I must say "nada" to Prada!

This has a ‘Ralph Lauren DNA’ for me, a modernised version of Polo Sport & the discontinued Polo Blue Sport, it also reminds me of a fresher, bluer version of Ralph’s club.

I also understand the review below that says it’s an aquatic version of Le male as it has a bubblegum like feel.

Nice freshie, a people pleaser and at the right price a good buy, nothing mind blowing though.

chrissay

This disproves my theory that lavender, musk and powder together give me a headache. Compelling, energizing, delicious.

hc123

I tried this from a tester and was like nope. I tried it again and eventually really liked it. It's got a fresh blast with a nice suede note that instantly reminds me of a convertible on a summer day. It has a warm and semi sweet dry down that is very nice. It's not super complex but is not a clone of anything I've smelled.

jjhs26

It really is its own fragrance. I know its so tempting and easy to try and compare it to other things, and truly, when trying to describe what realm this exists within, I think it is perfectly okay to talk about Dylan Blue, Sauvage, etc. But at the end of the day, it really is unique in its own right, and it has signature Prada cleanliness.

This is one of my favorite releases of all time, and I have been in the fragrance game for a long time. It is unique enough that it smells different in the air than all other designer blues. I think that many times we smell ourselves and think that is what others smell, this is not so.

Try spraying it on a friend or loved one and spend some time around them, to get a better feel for how it smells in the air around you.

This is an excellent release in my opinion. Im quickly running through my 100 ml and will likely repurchase. I get really good longevity (8 hours) on my skin and the sillage is delicious.

Thebarber1982

Not a fan, it doesn't smell bad but it also doesn't remind me of an aquatic scent....good for people who maybe aren't into the hobby as much imo...just left me wanting something a little more unique

ElliottUK

The soapy, lavender dry-down is absolutely gorgeous.

Pia20

My husband uses this, sometimes. While he likes it, I'm not a big fan of it. It wears okay on him..

It's a citrusy scent which then changes to a musky tone. Definitely smell the bergamot and lavender at the opening.

Octopuscentus

The most generic of them all. 95% ambroxide and 5% of whatever something. This one makes Dylan Blue and Sauvage smell good in comparison. And those stink like a deodorant. Maybe good for teenagers since they stink a lot. This one might help by covering teenage stink, or blending into it along with Axe.

Afc_Croatian

My expectations of this fragrance was to be a freshie and a typical blue scent.

Luna Rossa Ocean 100% has similarities to Dylan Blue and Code Parfum, the opening is very much similar to Code Parfum’s Iris and the middle notes remind me of the amber from Dylan Blue. When I first sprayed it I was like “ugh it’s like Armani Code Parfum, I already have it so I’m a little annoyed”.

However the dry down is where this fragrance does best, it becomes its own personality.
While the Iris does linger throughout, the caramel balances it’s depth and provides a subtle sweetness to it, making it different than any other fragrance in my 80+ collection, plus I got a 100ml for $50 off someone so what’s not to love with my purchase.

Also Jake Gyllenhal wears this and what’s not to love about him 😉

ToughCool

I’m really surprised this hasn’t gotten more love. I received this from my daughters for Christmas. I think the name confuses people. It’s not an ocean/blue to me. It starts off fresh enough with bergamot and lavender but then it changes altogether into this beautiful musky suede that then morphs gourmand like with the caramel! It’s rich. Drydown is beautiful and overall this isn’t like many out there. Great stuff!

ccaimann

Go this as a blind buy and was not too impressed by it. Thought that it was different from the other common blue fragrances (which was not a good thing in my opinion back then), and kinda regretted my decision. Now, it is undoubtedly one of my top 3 favourite fragrances in my collection. The opening is fresh and citrusy, and it quickly turns to a soft lavender and that iconic Prada soapy scent, with a light musk and green from the patchouli in the background. I personally don't really get the caramel dry down, but nevertheless, this fragrance smells manly, clean, and just overall suitable for all occasions, especially in summer.

evanbobeven

Reading reviews on this makes me feel like I've lost my mind, or my nose is broken. There's a strong seaweed/salty note, which sounds disgusting but is the main thing i like about this scent. It's unique to me, and I don't see a strong resemblance to BDC or dylan blue.

JamesLuft

I personally love this scent. Just something about it works so well off my skin. I get 10 hours of performance with moderate projection for the first few hours then it gets a closure to my skin. Works great for office environment and working out with sweeting.

AmoreProfumi

So late to the test game for this one.. but finally got my nose on it.. and have to say yeah I like this one, do I need it though.. eh.. at first I get a lot lavender.. like nice expensive lavender soap.. it’s very fresh soapy.. and as it dries I get the signature Prada powder touch almost metallicy like the same feel in carbon.. it’s versatile and mass pleasing I don’t think this would offend anyone if you had it on.. and points to not really reminding me of anything at least that I’ve smelt.. although and I could’ve went nose blind to it cause I keep sniffing my hand.. but I sprayed this but an hour go and I’m already having trouble smelling it.. like it’s detectable but way to soft almost skin scent.. so feeling longevity may may an issue.. I like it but I like Invictus platinum more.. maybe might grab a travel size for my collection..also to add feel this could be a safe gift option.

dolcethadon

I stopped by Ulta to get my nose on a few new releases I had yet to smell & this new Prada Luna Rossa Ocean was one of them. I am not that big on the "dark blue" trend going on with men's fragrances at the moment but boy did this one surprise me! The opening was intoxicating to my nose. Fresh, blue, powdery & somewhat sweet yet quite unique at the same time. You definitely get Prada Luna Rosso DNA in this one but in my opinion Ocean stands above most of the other Luna Rossa flankers. There's a lot going on in this one from the fresh opening with a touch of citrus to the lavender, iris, suede in the heat down to the musky base with hints of caramel. Prada Luna Rossa Ocean smells amazing! Far better in my opinion than other dark blue fragrances like Versace Dylan Blue, YSL Y, Dolce & Gabbana K etc. I definitely hope to add Ocean to my collection along with Carbon at some point!

Rogerant

I like prada luna rossa line. Have carbon and origional. Just had a complimentary sample of this and uts horrible. Not sure if it's the salty vibes to me just smells so funky. Something dirty in this one glad I didn't blind buy. It's not for me

XOXO_marcel

Not your typical blue fragrance. Slightly salty, and rich from the caramel. My fiance described it as "smelling like the beach, but in Spain", and somehow that does make sense. A bit sweet, very dark but also lively.
Gorgeous & complex.

RoXeLaR

Would describe it as headache in a bottle. I only smelled it on my hand in a store and i had to wash my hand directly after.

Atomikbomb_

This is a nice, pleasant, slightly salty musky burst of freshness.

If you're looking for something versatile, this is it. From the adds and bottle appearance I anticipated something darker, but this remains moderate.

I rated musk highly, but also bergamot. This truly has one of those bergamot heavy openings (you know the ones I'm talking about, when it's abundantly citrusy).

It goes into a modern herbaceous tone from there. I suppose it's lavender, but I'm accustomed to smelling real lavender and this isn't exactly that, but it's decidedly aromatic. It's not too rough, but again, there's something salty about this. It honestly is reminiscent of the ocean, without being overly briney.

Decent stuff! It doesn't make me go crazy, but it's enjoyable.

Muggleslayer

This is... fine. It's fine. Nothing exciting, but not terrible.

Jevans492

Soapy, clean and surprisingly green for a blue fragrance. Base notes like Patchouli and Musk give this a dry-down that feels like a greener take on the heavier Bleu de Chanel flankers (EDP, parfum). Although unique enough to stand on its own, I find PLR Ocean to be somewhat boring compared to the rest of the Luna Rossa line-up. It's very safe, inoffensive and extremely versatile despite being so green, but for someone who already owns a couple blue frags (Dylan Blue/Acqua di Gio) this might be a redundant purchase.

Humbucker

Smells like Lynx or Axe if in the USA or some other cheap sport deodorant. Very generic and a big miss. Could imagine this bringing on headaches too if sprayed excesssively.

Donkeybong

Got a free sample today, it's sweet and fresh blue fragrance with a nice soapy opening! Certainly not a winter fragrance that's for sure !

OHLAWDTOMFAWD

Its pretty good. Fresh, clean. Very subtle and understated. Brings some soft iris accords with some slight woods in the background. The sweeter citrus accords could be ramped up just a touch in my opinion just to bring it to life a tad bit more. I actually layered this with Spicebomb Infrared today and I found them to be very complimentary as the Spicebomb brings that sharp sweet accord that this one is lacking a bit. Overall a safe blind reach, but the projection suffers for me. Great scent right out of the shower and for most occasions, I just wouldnt pay full retail.

Truesay

This release from Prada is a good well balanced one which smells great but doesn't do any one thing super well or in a unique way. A nice bergamot nose on the top that seems very common these days. Reminds me of a sharper, more aquatic and less powdery version of Versace Dylan Blue, but doesn't have the longevity or sillage to compete.

rakinalikhan

clean, soapy, but ultimately forgettable. good for wearing after a shower or something or hanging out with friends but thats it. save your money.

djigoio

Like it because of the soapy Iris, lavander and so on when it is dry, but the first 15 minutes is yet another Dylan Blue like fragance. Also a bit overpriced, yet it is tempting me because im really into the drydown

I'd recommend Givenchy Gentelman Intense if you want a less summery alternative to this one

spartaksci

Such a nice and smooth frag. I'd take this over Dylan Blue and the like without thinking twice. Much more interesting. The citrus is the exact same in the OG Luna Rossa but the real pop with this one comes with the Lavender and the Iris, turning this into a more sophisticated take on the "blue" genre with a hint of leather but still keeping this fresh and summer appropriate. The comparison with Molyneux Captain Intense is spot on, but Ocean is much more well blended and has more depth to it, specially on the drydown with the musky/caramel vibe it has going on.

I don't know why the guy below me is rambling about performance, out of the 4 wearings i have with this bottle i got 8-9 hours consistently with great push for like 2 hours on 25-30C weather. 2022 batch.

SniffmasterCrash

A suburb complex fragrance. I see this as having two distinct smells / vibes, the "ocean" smell which is the citrus / pink pepper with a hit of the lavender / iris, and the herbal vibe. The opening is just a blast of both, which is alright, but its when this settles down that it shines. At arms length its all ocean vibes and is a amazing scent, as you approach you get more and more of the herbal smell. Really a surprising complex scent. Performance wise, its good for a EDT, I get about 4- 6 hours before it really becomes a skin scent, but even after a 12 hours day I could easily smell it on my clothes.

Ich_Bin_Neil

The opening is kinda weird dont know how to explain it. I think this might be my favorite blue fragrance but still I dont really like blue so lol. I think this would be good for some date night but I think because it smell like some form of detergent I wouldnt wear it

Joxa

Such a beautiful blue fragrance that stands out from all the typical blue freshie profiles.

I don't typically like blue fragrances but this one has more of a musky and darkness to it giving it more character and depth.

Highly recommend you give it a try.

Good job prada very nicely done!

Dixieland Delight

Fairly unique smelling in the Blue fragrance genre.

The artemesia in the top gives it an almost fruity vibe, but the absinthe aspect comes out and mixes with lavender.

As a niche guy who also likes designers ok, this is very good. Prefer this to Y and BDC due to the relatively interesting profile and the soapy iris underneath.

Very nice.

Mfink

Incredible fragrance. Very addicting smell of Prada clean sopiness mixed with a quality blue fragrance vibe. Can’t get enough of it. Could perform better but the fragrance is amazing.

Dangler83

I just got a sample of this stuff and on the dry down, this smell like Afnan Tres Nuit and Green Irish Tweed to me. there are subtle differences, but this is a solid frag. I may pick up a full size bottle.

Tacosalad

Very mass pleasing and office safe for sure. It’s on the edge of barbershop scent💈 with the lavender note but the light touch of suede and caramel keep it from stepping over that line completely. Not as Fougere as Carbon. Iris is light. The wormwood with creamy caramel in the dry down is very unique and sets this apart from the freshies that everyone wears. It’s not bubblegum sweet it’s lifesaver swirl sweet with wet marine wood backbone. Not aquatic like I assumed by the name. It has a very familiar scent that I couldn’t quite figure out for the longest time. It smells a lot like the new car scent air fresheners. Overall a good modern scent with a dark blue vibe. Not great enough to stand out in crowd but a great utility for any season but winter and pretty much any occasion except formal ones. Performance is good with 8-9 hours of small bubble projection. 7.5/10

fanzypants

I have had this for a while and not reviewed yet. I've worn it at least 10x and have a good idea about what I like about it. Initially I thought it was a bit boring, easily outperformed, less exciting, and less comforting than my other fresh ('blue') fragrances. I had sprayed this on skin and was initially interested by the caramel sweetness as it works a bit differently than other freshies, and I did a paper test as well. It was nice...but I forgot about it the next morning.
But then, I kept smelling it on my jacket and I detected Mr Benaim's classic suede note finally come out to play. This suede note has been very successful for me in the past, and sitting under the caramel, I was really impressed.

This is not a fragrance to judge on one wear.. This one needs to be enjoyed as you go through your day. It smells light and airy and does have sweetness; but the caramel, florals, and woody notes finally give you something different than all the other bubblegum fragrances being peddled. Lasts for the workday and is good for office wear and daytime use given how clean and smooth it smells.

I bought Chanel's BDC Parfum around the same time, and I think that Ocean competes quite well with that. I find them much more similar (mid notes) than any of the others referenced above. I would also say this has a similar formula to Ferragamo's Acqua Essenziale Blu with more interesting reference notes (like Caramel and Iris) and better blending.

This is really smooth and comforting, and a bit seductive (from the saffron and suede). Top five for me when it comes to fresher themed fragrances. I really appreciate Prada fragrances, and these amazing 2 perfumers as well. Thanks!

picknenders

To me, this is the most impressive of the contemporary mass marketed men’s releases. I say that because it stays away from the massive doses of Tonka and chestnut that seems to be taking over the men’s marketplace as of late. This has a fresh, musky tone to it, while retaining the mass appeal of the original Luna Rossa. Very nice.
